Frank Mentus, 84, of Bobtown, died at 5 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 1998, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg R.D.2. Mr. Mentus was Roman Catholic. He worked more than 40 years for J&L Steel at the Shannopin coal mine in Bobtown, retiring in 1975, and was a member of United Mine Workers Union Local 6159. His wife, Anne Zick Mentus, died January 3, 1977. Surviving are three daughters, Marge Gruseck of Glenshaw, Cathy Cain of Mt. Morris and Carole Salosky of Bobtown; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a nephew and two nieces. Deceased are two brothers, John and Fred Mentus. He was born June 22, 1913, in Allison Park, a son of Michael and Mary Wyda Mentus.
