Robert T. Dobbin Sr., 78, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, June 18, 1998, at Allegheny University Hospitals, Canonsburg, after a lengthy illness. He lived most of his life in Canonsburg and was a member of St. Patick Roman Catholic Parish and VFW Post 191. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a prisoner of war. Prior to his retirment, Mr. Dobbin was a field engineer at the former Pennsylvania Transformer Co. and McGraw-Edison Power Systems, both in Canonsburg. His first wife, Hannah Pirt Dobbin, died December 9, 1967. On November 11, 1982, he married Barbara H. Dobbin, who survives. Also surviving is one daughter, Delores "Dolly" Vinton of Branson, Mo.; one son, Robert T. Dobbin Jr. of Canonsburg; two stepdaughters, Carol Ann Thornburg of Millersville, Md., and Barbara Dewitt of Canonsburg; one stepson, Robert Humble of Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Agnes Livolsi, Theresa Aggers and Catherine Barringer, all of Houton; one brother, Frances Dobbin of Washington; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several neices and nephews. Deceased are two sisters, Mary Jane Coburn and Elizabeth Weippert; one brother, Thomas Dobbin; and one stepson, Mark Humble.
