Clara Louise Sowers, 75, of Lone Pine, died Thursday, June 18, 1998, in Washington Hospital. Mrs. Sowers had attended the Meyers Grade School and Trinity High School. She had been employed as a cook for the Bethlehem-Center School District for many years before retiring in 1985. Mrs. Sowers was a member of the North Ten Mile Baptist Church. On September 7, 1940, she married Charles W. Sowers, who died October 13, 1987. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia A. Earnest of Lone Pine; three sons, Gary L. Sowers of Rices Landing, Eric L. Sowers of Lone Pine and Bradley D. Sowers of Lone Pine; a sister, Glennetta Mosier of Washington; 11 grandchildren, Kristen Earnest, Lynne Cecchini, Stacey Coon, Jennifer Mihal, Jonathan, Jeremy and Joshua Sowers, Erika Medcap, Cody, Megan, and Ian Sowers; and two great-grandchildren. She was born January 19, 1923, in North Bethlehem Township, a daughter of Glenn and Elizabeth Pees Swart.
