Harold H. "Bill" Blayney, 91, of Claysville, died Monday, June 22, 1998, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington. Mr. Blayney was a member of Claysville United Methodist Church. He worked for 12 1/2 years for Sprowls Hardware, Claysville, and for 29 1/2 years for Jessop Steel Co., Washington, retiring in 1971. Mr. Blayney served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and was recently recognized as a 50-year member of James R. Hunt American Legion Post 639, Claysville. On September 8, 1937, he married Frances Herrmann, who died November 10, 1990. Surviving are three sons, Ronald H. Blayney of Claysville, Harold L. Blayney of Venetia and Robert A. Blayney of East Finley; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Deceased are two brothers, Raymond, who died in infancy, and Vernon Blayney; and a sister, Romaine Fuhr.
