Stanton D. (Stan) Eddy, 72, of Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, Ohio, died Monday, June 22, 1998, in East Liverpool City Hospital after a lengthy illness. He lived most of his life in this area, working for Eichleay Corp. as superintendent of construction for more than 30 years before retiring in 1990. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps as a corporal during World War II, taking part in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Eddy was a member of the Iron Workers Union 207, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5647, American Legion Post 70, Elks Lodge 1040, F&AM Lodge 180 of Wellsville and Scottish Rite, Valley of Steubenville. He was Methodist. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie L. Fox Eddy, whom he married February 2, 1947; two sons, Jerry Eddy of Oakdale and Steve Eddy of Philadelphia; two daughters, Kay McGaffick of Chester, W.Va., and Karen Miller of Mt. Pleasant; one brother, Robert Eddy of Pine Bank; one sister, Kathleen Leonard of Beaver Falls; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Deceased are three brothers and one sister.
