Mae Marie Strope Sheller, 81, of Claysville, died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, in Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Sheller was born April 1, 1917, in Taylorstown, a daughter of George W. and Dora Winona Wilson Strope.
She was a member of Fairhill Manor Christian Church, where she had participated in the Balcony Class and the Christian Women's Fellowship.
Mrs. Sheller was a homemaker and the baker for McGuffey Middle and Senior High School for several years.
She enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, traveling and reading.
On August 19, 1938, she married Gaylord Lee Sheller, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Samuel Lee Sheller of Fairfax, Va., and Gene Raymond Sheller of West Alexander; a daughter, Jane Winona Sheller Teagarden of Claysville; a sister, Martha Doman of Washington; four granddaughters, Melissa Jane Teagarden, Maria Consuello Sheller, Gena Rosalee Sheller and Samantha Lee Sheller; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are one son, Donald Wayne Sheller; one grandson, Timothy Lee Teagarden; five brothers, Raymond, James, Orval, Benjamin and Jehu Strope; and five sisters, Dorothy and Margaret Strope, Ruth Morris, Evelyn Wolfe and Grace Mounts.
