Robert H. Teagarden, 75, of 520 North Porter Street, Waynesburg, died at 5:15 p.m. Monday, June 22, 1998, in his home following a lengthy illness. Mr. Teagarden was a lifelong resident of Waynesburg, where he was a member of First Presbyterian Church. At the time of his death, he was grand master of Waynesburg Odd Fellows Lodge 469 I.O.O.F. Mr. Teagarden worked for Sexton's Auto for 10 years and was an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance for 31 years, retiring in 1987. He also served as a school director in Central Greene School District, Waynesburg. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division and jumping on D Day in Normandy, France. Mr. Teagarden received the Purple Heart. On October 17, 1942, he married Kathleen Varner, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Judith Clayton of Deland, Fla., Rosemary Birt of Mt. Gretna, Karen Calvert of Waynesburg and Beth Day of West Finley; two sons, Robert V. and James A. Teagarden, both of Waynesburg; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Walter B.
