Samuel L. Bedogne

Former deacon, elder, trustee of First Presbyterian
Samuel L. Bedogne, 82, of New Eagle, died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, in Monongahela Valley Hospital, Carroll Township.

He was born March 19, 1916, in Forward Township, a son of Angelo and Cliotilda Bartoletti Bedogne.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monongahela, for which he served as a deacon, elder and trustee.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific.
Mr. Bedogne served as secretary for the borough of New Eagle for 26 years. He also was assistant secretary for the Municipal Authority of New Eagle.
He formerly served on the school board of both the former New Eagle schools and the Ringgold schools.
He was a member of ElksLodge 455, Monongahela, and its golf and euchre leagues.
On August 6, 1941, he married Janet Gee Bedogne, who survives.
Also surviving are his son, Jan Bedogne of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Mary Vaira of Forward Township; and two grandchildren, Jason and Jessica Bedogne.
Deceased are two brothers, A.F. "Babe" Bedogna and Charles Bedogne; and a sister, Amelia Vaira.
