Walter "Dutch" Smith, 86, of Pittsburgh, died Thursday, June 25, 1998, in Mon Valley Hospital. Mr. Smith formerly worked as a glass cutter for Mississippi Glass in the Mon Valley. He was a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church and a 50-year life member of the Loyal Order of Moose 172 of Finleyville. His wife, Ruth E. Smith, died September 7, 1991. Surviving are three daughters, Mary Jane Gieche of Finleyville, Eleanor Powell of Buena Vista and Martha Dick of Pleasant Hills; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
