LeRoy Bailey, 75, of McClellandtown, formerly of Palmer, died Sunday, June 28, 1998, in the Popovich Personal Care Home after a lengthy illness. He was a graduate of German Township High School and served in the South Pacific as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retiree from U.S. Steel Maple Creek Mine and a member of the UMW, Faith-Gray-McArdle VFW Post 4584, and the Masontown Fish and Game Club. Surviving are one daughter, Gloria L. Nalepka of Gates; two sons, Gerald L. Bailey of Jefferson and Lee Bailey of Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters, Evelyn Boyle of Masontown and Ann Carrick of Palmer; and five brothers, Edward Bailey of Carmichaels, Harry Bailey and Leonard Bailey, both of Palmer, Vincent Bailey of Masontown, and Robert Bailey of Mentor, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Edward and Amanda Nalepka, and Ariel, Gina, Rosalee, Benjamin and Rachael Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.
