Maude W. Lewis, 95, of 204 Shirley Drive, Monaca, formerly of Waynesburg, died at 12:30 p.m. Monday, June 29, 1998, at UPMC-Beaver Valley. Mrs. Lewis was a former resident of Waynesburg and also had lived in Ohio for several years. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ruff Creek, the Women of the Moose Chapter 888, Waynesburg, and the Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Texas. Surviving are three daughters, Edith Brown of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Mary Jean Lewis of Warren, Ohio, and Martha Jean Provateare of Lake Milton, Ohio; two granddaughters, Delores Strosnider Cox and Linda Leyda Shriver; five great-grandsons; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Deceased are her husband, Challen W. "Chum" Lewis; and a son, Raymond Lewis. Charles Stevens, with whom Mrs. Lewis made her home for 35 years, is also deceased.
