Gerald L. Orndoff, 52, of Millsboro, died Wednesday, June 3, 1998, in Washington Hospital. Although in failing health, his death was unexpected. Mr. Orndoff was a disabled coal miner with 12 years at Somerset Mine of Beth Energy Corp., and was a 12-year veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of United Mine Workers Local 1197, was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church of Fredericktown and was active for many years with the Beth-Center Youth Soccer Organization. Mr. Orndoff lived in the Millsboro area since 1975, and on February 1, 1975, married Alberta Famularo, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Benjamin Orndoff of Millsboro; three sisters, Reva Murray and Nora Smolick, both of Finleyville and Carolyn Koher of Belle Vernon; three brothers; Robert Orndoff of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Robert Sheltler of Conway and James Orndoff of Washington; numerous nieces and nephews; and two children by a previous marriage.
