Gene McHenry, 70, of Jefferson R.D.1, died at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 1998, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was a lifetime resident of Greene county and attended the Greene Valley Church of God. He worked as a coal miner for many years in addition to being employed at the former Gee Bees and Hepner Furniture stores. Mr. McHenry was also a member of the Dry Tavern Sportsmen's Club and enjoyed fishing. Surviving are his wife, Garnet Bacorn McHenry, whom he married May 31, 1947; one sister, Ethel Dormeyor, of Washington; and two nieces. Deceased is one brother, Wilton O. McHenry.
