Raymond Strope, 93, of Beallsville, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 1998, at Manor Care, McMurray. Mr. Strope was a retired employee of Jessop Steel Company, Washington. Surviving are a son, James R. Strope of Bentleyville; a stepson, Richard Hill of Pickerington, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Carolyn Smith of Marianna, and Helen Dillon of Logan, Ohio; two grandsons, David James and Matthew Jacob Strope; two sisters, Martha Doman of Washington and Mae Sheller of Claysville; several stepgrandchildren and step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are three brothers, James, Orval and Benjamin Strope; five sisters, Dorothy and Margaret Strope, Ruth Morris, Grace Mounts and Evelyn Wolfe; a stepdaughter, Judy Hill Franks, who died April 18, 1986; and a grandson, Michael Jacob Strope, who died August 29, 1996.
