William (Bill) Cornell, 90, formerly of McClelland Road, North Strabane, died Sunday, June 7, 1998, in Country Meadows Nursing Facility, Bridgeville. Mr. Cornell was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Polish National Catholic Church of Canonsburg. He was formerly employed at CONSOL Inc., retiring in February of 1976. He was an outstanding auto mechanic and small engine repair expert, working on automobiles in many garages, including his own. On January 15, 1930, he married Sophia Zovacki, who died June 18, 1989. Surviving are three sisters, Nellie Cappelli and Antoinette Keeler, both of Washington and Verna Young of Aliquippa; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are five sisters, Lucy Marsh, Mary Oliver, Josephine Zapel, Kathryn Dillon and Rose Riggle; and two brothers, Charles and Anthony Cornell. Former CONSOL employee was outstanding mechanic
He was born November 23, 1907, in Houston, a son of Guy and Flora Lescalletti Cornell, and lived in the Houston and Canonsburg areas most of his life.
