Harry "Speed" Walters, 74, of Clinton Avenue, Monongahela, died Friday, February 27, 1998, at home. Mr. Walters first worked for Pennsylvania Railroad Co., then became owner of Clover Farm in New Eagle. He was a coal miner for Mathies Mine Co. and owned Walters Hobby Shop in Monongahela. He served in the 3rd Division of the 21st Marines, 1st Platoon, L Co., during World War II, was wounded on Iwo Jima and awarded the Purple Heart, He was a member of Transfiguration Catholic Church in Monongahela. Surviving are his wife, Ethel Perecko Walters, with whom he celebrated 48 years of marriage on December 10, 1997; three sons, Harry L. and Robert T. Walters, both of Monongahela and Jeffrey J. Walters of West Newton; a daughter, Melissa Wisniewski of Monongahela; and 10 grandchildren, Matt and John Wisniewski, Jennifer, Joshua, Zackery, Jason, Kelly, Brienne, Emily and Molly Walters.
