Paul Nuss Stewart, 78, of Glenshaw, formerly of Oil City and Claysville, died Monday, March 9, 1998, in his home. Mr. Stewart was a graduate of Claysville High School and served in the Pacific Theater from January 29, 1945 until April 9, 1946, with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed as a mold design engineer for Hazel Atlas Glass Plant No. 2, Washington; Glass Containers Corp., Knox; and for Glenshaw Glass, from where he retired in 1982. Mr. Stewart, a Protestant, was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Oil City, and American Legion James R. Hunt Post 639, Claysville. On September 16, 1939, he married Virginia Carroll, who died July 17, 1990. Surviving are a son, Thomas A. Stewart of Erie; a daughter, Rebecca S. Carter of Solon, Ohio; a brother, William A. Stewart of Claysville; a sister, Betty Jane Stewart of Claysville; and four grandchildren, Tracy L. and Jeffrey S. Carter, Douglas A. and Nicole Lynn Stewart.
