Richard Morton Pratt, 72, of Carmichaels R.D.1, died at 8:30 a.m. Monday, March 9, 1998, at his home. Mr. Pratt was a coal miner for 40 years for Nemacolin Coal Mine, retiring in September 1986. He was also a farmer and drove a school bus for Bailey's Bus Co. in Carmichaels School District. He was a member of UMWA, Nemacolin Local 6290. On October 5, 1946, he married Mildred Simpson, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Judy Hamilton of Carmichaels R.D.1; a son, Larry Dale Pratt of Carmichaels R.D.1; four grandchildren, Randy and Susie Hamilton, Wendy Lowery and Kimberly Barton; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, June Phillips of Carmichaels R.D.1.
