Walter Popielarczyk, 73, of 6th Street, Vestaburg, died 5:17 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 1998, in the Brownsville Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility. Mr. Popielarczyk was a member of the parish of St. Oliver Plunkett. He was a retired miner of the LTV Steel Corp., Vesta 5 Mine and a member of UMWA Local 762 of Vestaburg. Surviving are a son, John W. "Boobie" Popielarczyk of Vestaburg; two daughters, Eva M. Popielarczyk at home and Kathy M. Gutosky of McMurray; three grandchildren, Melanie M. White, Cordell H. Popielarczyk and William J. Gutosky; one great-granddaughter; a brother, Carl Popielarczyk of California; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are his wife, Susan Kanisky Popielarczyk, who died November 27, 1987; five brothers, Joseph, John, Adam, Edward and Custer Popielarczyk; and a sister, Mary F. Gontko.
