William (Bill) Combs, 83, of New Eagle, died Saturday, March 14, 1998. In 1979, he retired from Duquesne Light after 43 years of employment. Mr. Combs was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in New Eagle. He was a life member of Henry M. Phillips Lodge 337 F&AM of Monongahela, a 50-year member of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Council Chapter Consistory, Valley of Pittsburgh, and a 50-year member of Syria Temple of Pittsburgh. He also was a member of New Eagle Beagle Club and was very active with Monongahela Senior Citizens, where he formerly delivered Meals on Wheels. On November 21, 1941, he married Jean Jackson, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Vivia Stidard of Monongahela and Billie Reiter of New Eagle; five grandchildren, Shona Ayers, Holly Lealiki, Shannon Caramela, Chemen Stidard and Brian Reiter; five great-grandchildren; and a niece.
