Laton DeGarmo Jr., 71, of Claysville, died at 12:40 pm Monday, March 16, 1998, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center, Washington. Mr. DeGarmo was a member of Windy Gap Presbyterian Church, West Finley. He was a member of Pipeliners Local 798 of Tulsa, Okla.; was formerly employed as a welder by Wilke Construction, Claysville, and was last employed as a welder with Hahn Contracting, Birdsboro, for several years prior to his retirement in 1987. Surviving are his wife, Martha Jean "Toots" Ritchea DeGarmo, six sons, Dr. Larry DeGarmeaux of Glendale, W.Va., Robert L. DeGarmo, Randy L. DeGarmo and Timothy J. DeGarmo, all of Claysville, and Michael R. DeGarmo and Kenneth L. DeGarmo, both of Washington; and 12 grandchildren. Deceased are a grandson, Kenneth Lee DeGarmo; four brothers, George Samuel DeGarmo, Homer William DeGarmo, Charles Encil DeGarmo and Cecil Kenneth "Mickey" DeGarmo; two sisters, Gracie Caroline DeGarmo and Opal Gertrude Conner.
