George Blehi, 77, of Burgettstown, died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center, Washington. Mr. Blehi served with the U.S. Army during World War II, taking part in the Battle of the Bulge He was a member of the Company B303 Engineer Battalion. He was retired from Weirton Steel Co., where he was a pipefitter. Mr. Blehi was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church of Burgettstown, Burgettstown Senior Citizens and the Twenty Five Year Club of Weirton Steel. He was a professional photographer for more than 46 years and operated his own studio in Burgettstown from 1961 to 1986, when he had to give it up because of ill health. Mr. Blehi enjoyed horseshoe pitching and won the 1992 State Senior Horseshoe Championship of Pennsylvania. He belonged to the Washington Horseshoe Club, the Dormont Horseshoe Club and the Hope Horseshoe Club of Pennsylvania in Carnegie. On January 28, 1961, he married Kathryn Rash Zernich Blehi, who survives. Also surviving are a stepson, Robert Zernich of Quincy, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Katie Malosh of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren; and a sister, Sue Van Daly of St. Simons Island, Ga.
