Mario A. Colaizzo, 82, of Houston, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, in the Greenery following a lengthy illness. Mr. Colaizzo had lived his entire life in the Canonsburg and Houston areas. He was a member of St. Patrick Parish. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and played tuba in the Army Band. He had been employed at the former Standard Tin Plate, Canonsburg. Prior to his retirement in 1980, he was employed as an expediter at the former McGraw Edison Power Systems, Canonsburg. Mr. Colaizzo was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191, Canonsburg, and was a member of the former Holy Name Society. On November 19, 1941, he married Rose M. Mazza, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Marion A. Colaizzo of Canonsburg and Felix J. Colaizzo at home; two grandchildren, Kristin Marie and Ryan Thomas Colaizzo; two brothers, Joseph A. Colaizzo and state Rep. Anthony L. Colaizzo, both of Canonsburg; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a sister, Jean Colaizzo; and three brothers, Peter Colaizzo, and Felix and Tony Colaizzo, who died in infancy.
