Adam Skokut, 72, of Fitz Henry Road, Smithton, died Saturday, February 28, 1998, in his home. He was a 1944 graduate of Charleroi High School. On June 12, 1949, he married Mary Louise Yilit, who survives. Mr. Skokut was a lifelong dairyman in South Huntingdon Township. He attended Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in New Stanton. He was on the board of directors for Bentleyville Union Holiness Campmeeting Association. He also served for 10 years as a member of the board of directors for PA Farmers Union Milk Marketing Board. Surviving are three daughters, Elaine Patterson and Joyce Cunningham, both of Smithton, and Sonya Justice of Akron, Ohio; a son, Adam J. Skokut of Smithton; nine grandchildren, Joshua and Gretchen Cunningham, Samantha Skokut, Melayni, Daniel and Juliette Patterson, and Jessica, Nolan and Olivia Justice; five brothers, Miller Skokut of Independence, Ohio, Nick Skokut of Monongahela, Louis Skokut of Scenery Hill, Louie Skokut of Paso Robles, Calif., and Sam Skokut of Ruffsdale; two sisters, Bernice Skokut of Monongahela and Milicent Nehrebecki of Bentleyville; and several nieces and nephews.
