Grace M. Miller, 98, of West Middletown, died Thursday, March 19, 1998, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center, Washington. Since 1920, she lived in West Middletown, where she was a member of Grove United Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Miller was a schoolteacher, teaching in Avella Area School District for more than 40 years before retiring in 1968. She was a member of Pennsylvania Association of Retired Teachers and Independence Grange 179. Surviving are a son, William H. Miller of Houston; a daughter, Betty Jean Bout of Washington; a sister, Cecelia Lantz of Mechanicsburg; and a brother, Charles E. Martin of Avella; seven grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. On July 25, 1920, she married Howard Clark Miller, who died September 29, 1954. Also deceased are four sisters, Helen Hall, Betty Surace, Hazel Robinson and Marie Foster; and a brother, William H. Martin.
