Charles L. "Chick" Sowers, 71, of 129 Jollick Manor, Washington, died at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 1998, in Oakland Veteran's Administration Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Sowers attended Immaculate Conception Elementary and High School. He worked in the General Feed Mill in Washington before entering the U.S. Marine Corps for service during World War II. He became disabled as a result of injuries he received during those years. Mr. Sowers was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175. Surviving are a brother, Thomas N. Cox, with whom he made his home; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Deceased are two brothers, John "Red" Miller and Bernard "Bun" Sowers.
