Thomas C. Porter Sr., 58, of Middleport, Ohio, died Thursday, March 26, 1998, at the Veterans Memorial Hospital, Pomeroy, Ohio. Mr. Porter was a member of the Point Pleasant Moose Lodge and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Gallipolis, Ohio. He was a coal miner with the Southern Ohio Coal Co. Surviving are his wife, Judy Reynolds Porter; two daughters, Joyce Glaze of Shade, Ohio, and Tammy Landers Thomas of Middleport; five sons, Thomas Porter Jr. of Defuniak Springs, Fla., Timothy S. Porter of Belle Glade, Fla., Robert Landers of Pomeroy, Charles Landers of Pomeroy, and Matt Stewart at home; 17 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; four brothers, Guy Porter of Carnegie, Raymond Porter of Midway, Wayne Porter of Imperial and William Porter of Avonmore; three sisters, Betty Curtis of Oakdale, Jessie Hertzler of Oakdale and Dawn Reno of Midway; and several nieces and nephews. He was born January 20, 1940, in Washington County, son of Helen Dalessandri Porter of Carnegie and the late William Everett Porter.
