Rose Patalan, 92, of Henderson Avenue, Washington, died Monday, March 2, 1998, at Presbyterian Medical Center, Washignton. She had been the owner of Henderson Avenue Foodland in Washington for many years. Her first husband, John Szotkowski, died January 15, 1929. Her second husband, John Patalan, died November 4, 1977. She was a member of St. Hilary Church, Washington. Surviving are two daughters, Jennie Stucky of Monterey Park, Calif. and Patricia Brezinski of Washington; one son, Henry S. Szotkowski of Washington; four grandchildren, Debra Brezinski and Kevin Brezinski and Sharon Shrum and Sandy Gareis; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces.
