Stephen M. Skovran, 88, of Mary Street, Bentleyville, died Monday, March 30, 1998, at Brownsville General Hospital after a lengthy illness. In 1974, Mr. Skovran retired from Armstrong World Wide Industries, Pittsburgh, where he worked as a supervisor. He was a member of Ave Maria Parish. Surviving are his second wife, Margaret E. Astrop Gaso Skovran, whom he married April 22, 1967; two daughters, Mildred Skovran and Rosemary Skovran, both of Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren; and eight-great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, Joseph Gaso Sr., Larry Gaso and Irene A. Kotchman, all of Bentleyville; four brothers, Joseph, John and Paul Skovran, all of Pittsburgh and Charles Skovran of Virginia; and a sister, Sister Mary Edward of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are his first wife, Rose B. Jockel Skovran, who died in 1965; a daughter, Lucille Purcell; two sons, Edward and Ralph Skovran; two sisters, Mary Richards and Sister Andrea Skovran; and a brother, Edward Skovran.
