James R. Shaw, 75, of Washington, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998, in Washington Hospital, after a brief illness. Mr. Shaw was a member of Fairhill Manor Christian Church of Washington. A 1941 graduate of Washington High School, Mr. Shaw worked for Precision Marshall Steel Co. as production supervisor, retiring in 1975 after 34 years of service. During World War II, he served in the United States Navy as a commissaryman first class aboard the U.S.S. Endicott. On October 15, 1955, in Washington, he married Lois Engle, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Dennis J. Shaw of St. Charles, Mo., and Brian R. Shaw of Washington; a daughter, Lisa L. Brumfield of Newport News, Va.; five grandchildren, Zachary Shaw, Stephen Brumfield, Michael Brumfield, Samantha Shaw and Noel Holguin; and several nieces and nephews.
