Mary R. Mealy, 83, of Shady Lane, Canton Township, formerly of Buena Vista Street, Washington, died at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 1998, in Angels Tender Touch personal care home. Mrs. Mealy attended First Baptist Church of Washington when her health permitted. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, board games and working puzzles. She was twice married. Her first husband, John W. Malarkey, died in 1952. She later married Samuel A. Mealy, who died December 13, 1976. Surviving are a son, Paul W. Malarkey of Naples, Fla.; two daughters, Mary L. Porter, with whom she made her home, and Barbara A. Urban of Redding, Calif.; a sister, Juanita McGillen of Washington; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Deceased, in addition to her husbands, are three sisters, Iva P. McConnell, Gladys J. Taylor and Ann Dugan; and two brothers, Paul R. and Dean Morrison.
