William R. Martin

William (Bill) Raymond Martin Sr., 64, died Monday, April 27, 1998, at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C., following a period of declining health.

He was born on January 18, 1934, and had spent his entire life in Paris, Pa., until moving to North Carolina three years ago.
Mr. Martin retired from Weirton Steel Corp. after more than 30 years of service.
On October 13, 1956, he married Betty Jane Dunay Martin, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, William Martin and Darrell Martin, both of Rural Hall, N.C.; two daughters, Teresa Bernola of Burgettstown and Lori Sedlak of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Katie and Amanda Bernola, Brittany and Kristen Sedlak and Harold and Amanda Cain; a brother, George Martin of California.
An aunt, Marie Drutar lives in Washington, and an uncle, Raymond Martin lives in Canonsburg.
Deceased are his father, Willard Martin; and his grandmother, Elizabeth Martin.
Services were held April 29 in Rural Hall, with the Rev. Judson Milam officiating. Interment followed in Crestview Memorial Park.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Burgettstown, officiated by the Rev. Jack Adams. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the American Lung Association.
