George John Filby Sr., 67, of Jefferson Avenue, Washington, died at 5:15 p.m. Monday, May 11, 1998, in Washington Hospital following a lengthy illness. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a grinder for 25 years at Washington Mould. During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea. On November 12, 1964, he married Shirley Ann Reeb, who survives. Also surviving are a son, George John Filby Jr. of Elizabeth, Colo.; a sister, Mary Filby of Washington; and eight nieces and nephews.
