David Major Bell III, 50, of Johnstown, and formerly of Canonsburg, died Tuesday, May 12, 1998, in Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Mr. Bell was Christian. He was a graduate of Canonsburg High School and served for 21 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as petty officer first class. He was a member of VFW Post 155, Johnstown and was a former member of VFW 191 of Canonsburg and American Legion 902 of Houston. Surviving are two daughters, Jeanne Lynn Bell and Deborah E. Ulmaniec, both of Port Charlotte, Fla.; one son, David Major Bell IV of Johnstown; one grandson, Joshua Ulmaniec; and one sister, Susan Rossero of Canonsburg. Funeral services and burial in Oak Spring Cemetery will be private. The family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of the donor's choice. Full military rites will be accorded graveside.
