Earl Wilbert Meeks, 91, of Scenic Drive, Washington, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 15, 1998, at home. He had been in failing health the past three years. Mr. Meeks was a receiving clerk at Jessop Steel Corp. for 36 years prior to his retirement. He was Protestant and a 1927 graduate of Washington High School, where he had been coached by Hank Day and was a member of the 1926 undefeated football team. On June 25, 1928, he married Dessie Anderson, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Wilbur Earl Meeks and Paul Richard Meeks, both of Washington; six grandchildren, Janet Bickus, Rhonda Clark, Dale and Roy Meeks, Debbie Wilson and Sandy McClenathan; and 11 great-grandchildren. Deceased are two sisters, Bessie Miller and Nellie Barrows. Funeral arrangements, which are incomplete and being handled by the William G.
