James Patrick McLean, of California state, died Saturday, May 16, 1998, at home. Following his armed forces retirement, Mr. McLean was vice president, equipment management, of GATX Capitol in California state. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, JoAnn; five children, Kevin of Toronto, Canada, Patrick of Portland, Ore., Donna Veneziano of Washington, D.C., Kathleen Ortiz of San Ramon, Calif., and Kristine Benum of Seattle, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and two brothers, Thomas of El Paso, Texas, and Robert of Knoxville, Tenn.
