John Arthur King, 41, of Rock Hill, S.C., died at 1 p.m. Monday, May 25, 1998, in UPMC-Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, following a six-week illness. Mr. King was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, a member of the South Franklin Volunteer Fire Department and 1975 graduate of McGuffey High School. He had been a machinist with Chicago Pneumatic of Rock Hill, was also a resident manager of an apartment in Rock Hill, and while living in the Washington area, he was employed by Penn Mould Industries. Mr. King was an avid race car fan. On November 25, 1977, he married Beth Ann Hutson, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Phillip J. King at home; a daughter, Julie A. King at home; five sisters, Elaine Johnson of Oxford, Sue Ann Davis of Upper St. Clair, Cathy Hought of Mechanicsburg, Shelley Crawford and Melanie Hutson both of Washington.
