Lawrence R. Brown, 76, of Greenhill Drive, North Franklin Township, died at 8:30 a.m. Friday, May 29, 1998, at his home following a brief illness. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints. He formerly had been employed at Union Camp, retiring in 1977 due to illness. He was a member of several local service clubs and had formerly been a coach for a Little League baseball team. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater. He had served on the USS Hornet and USS Princeton, both of which were sunk. He later served on the USS San Jacinto and on the maiden voyage of the USS Lake Champlain. Surviving are his wife, Betty Phillips Brown; a son, Commander L. Robin Brown, of Naples, Italy and Washington; a daughter, Bonnie Grim of Washington; two brothers, William J. Brown of Tucson, Ariz., and John E. Brown of Claysville; one sister, Elizabeth J. Parcha of Washington; three grandchildren, Bryan H. Brown, Karen S.
