Henry Wilkins, 81, of Delaware Avenue, Washington, died Saturday, May 2, 1998, at Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington, following a brief illness. He was Baptist. For 22 years, he was employed as a truck driver by Washington and Jefferson College, from where he retired. Mr. Wilkins enjoyed fishing and hunting. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army. He received the following citations and decorations: the Asiatic-Pacific Theater ribbon, the Phillipines Liberation ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. On July 15, 1961, he married Lottie Sherron, who died in March 1989. Surviving are a daughter, Doris Hughes of Washington, DC; two sons, Kenneth L. Wilkins of Washington and William "Sonny" McEnitosh of Capital Heights, Md.; two stepsons, Theodore Sherron of Cleveland, Ohio, and Lawrence Chisolmn of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Jeff Wilkins of Washington and Van Berry Wilkins of Statesville, N.C.; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Lonnie Wilkins and John Wilkins; three sisters, Virginia Phillips, Emmaline Edison and Rosamae Hatten.
