Surviving are his wife, Mildred Montgomery Stewart; two stepsons, Edward J. and James W. Burdyck, both of Maryville, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Mittie Petway of Wilson, N.C., and Jo Anna Stasieczko of Maryville; eight stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd Paul Stewart of Vine Grove, Ky., and Fred D. Stewart of Pine Bank; three sisters, Rosie Morris of Waynesburg, Marigold Stewart of Carmichaels and Thelma Roby of Westover, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
