Nick Kolesar, 82, of Avella, died at 9:45 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 1998, at home. Mr. Kolesar worked as a mechanic for A.J. Cindrich Construction Co., retiring February 27, 1981. He served in the U.S. Navy Merchant Marines as a seaman first class during World War II. Mr. Kolesar lived all his life in Avella, where he was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Byzantine Rite, a charter member of Avella Volunteer Fire Department, a member of American Legion Bert C. Siders Post 643 of Avella and Avella Sportsman's Association Inc. On September 2, 1946, he married Helen Stacko, who died February 2, 1998. Surviving are a daughter, Maryanne Kolesar of Sumter, S.C.; a son, William D. Kolesar of West Middletown; a grandson, Wink Kolesar; two sisters, Annie Putnam of Lupuente, Calif., and Julia Peterson of Avella. Lifelong resident of Avella was retired mechanic
He was born November 19, 1915, in Cross Creek Township, a son of Nick and Annie Luckwsic Kolesar Sr.
