Mary E. Grimes, 94, of Cresson, formerly of Holbrook, died at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 1998, in Laurel Crest Manor Nursing Home, Ebensburg, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Grimes had resided in Jackson Township all her life prior to moving to Cresson in 1992. She was a member of Holbrook Christian Church, where she served with the Christian Women's Society, and was a volunteer with the American Cancer Society. On September 26, 1925, she married Charles Thomas Grimes, who died in October 1941. Surviving are a daughter, Catherine Dunn of LaPalma, Calif.; a son, Harold Grimes of Cresson; a granddaughter whom she raised, Norma Jean Grable of LaPalma, Calif.; seven additional grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, James T.
