George Superack, 88, of Rices Landing, R.D.1, died Friday, May 8, 1998, in his home in Washington where he lived the last three months. Mr. Superack worked as a coal miner in the Crescent Hills Mine and Jones and Laughlin's Vesta 4 mine. He owned and operated Superack's Tavern in Daisytown from 1949 to 1976. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in France and Germany. Mr. Superack was a member of the American Legion Post 816, Rices Landing. He was Catholic. On July 13, 1947, he married Margaret Janco who survives. Also surviving are two sons, George E. Superack of East Washington and James A. Superack of Waynesburg; five grandchildren, George A. Superack, James M. Superack, Shawn Superack, Melanie Superack and Chali Superack Roberts; two sisters, Elizabeth Settie of Richeyville and Josephine Martina of Scenery Hill.
