Doris M. Rankin, 70, of New Jersey, died October 31, 1998, in Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin, N.J.

She was born in Missouri, a daughter of Bird Clutter and Mary Huffman Clutter Wilson.
Formerly of Washington, she resided in Ship Bottom, N.J., from 1967-93, and then moved to Tuckerton, N.J. Mrs. Rankin retired as a bartender after many years of service.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 493 and the Italian American Club, both of Tuckerton, and the Southern Ocean County Women's Pool League from 1980 until the time of her death.
Surviving are two sons, James Gary Allen of Tuckerton and Alfred R. Mundy Jr. of Beach Haven, N.J.; three daughters, Glenda W. Rankin and Mary L. Stackhouse, both of Beach Haven, and Billie Jo Bobo of Manahawkin; a brother, James L. Wilson of Washington; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several cousins.
An uncle, Charles Huffman, resides in Waynesburg.
Deceased are her second husband, Glenn W. "Dutch" Rankin, who died in 1958; a son, Thomas B. Rankin, who died in 1979; a brother, Robert S. Clutter; paternal grandparents, Guy Clutter and Blanche Clutter Weaver; and maternal grandparents, Cage and Coral Huffman.
