William C. Manning, 70, of 231 Morgan Street, Lower Burrell, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 1998, in St. Margaret Hospital, Aspinwall. Mr. Manning was employed as a state policeman for 30 years and as a detective for 15 years for Westmoreland County. He lived in Lower Burrell for 40 years. Mr. Manning was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Lower Burrell. He was a 1945 graduate of Washington High School and the County and State Detective Association of Pennsylvania. He was a member of Allegheny Lodge Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 39. Mr. Manning served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1945 to 1947. Surviving are his wife, Marcella Fiscus Manning; three daughters, Marcia Malesick of Weirton, W.Va., Susan Belli of Greensburg and Melissa Hummell of Crown Point, Ind.; and four grandchildren.
