Edward S. Walkos, 67, of Nemacolin, died Thursday, November 12, 1998, in his home. Mr. Walkos was a retired truck driver. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a corporal with the Strategic Air Command during the Korean War. Mr. Walkos was a member of First Christian Church of Carmichaels, former fire chief of Nemacolin Volunteer Fire Department and a life member and former director of Greene County Civil Defense. He was a former board member of Greene County Headstart, former director of King Coal Association, member of American Legion Post 945 and a longtime member of Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are five sons, John Fulmer of Mt. Morris and Edward William, Mark Lynn, Timothy Howard and Rodney Keith Walkos, all of Nemacolin; a daughter, Laurie Beth Mikalik of Dilliner; 17 grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth Nell Fozard of Carson City, Nev., and Pamela Mulloy of Kempner, Texas; and three brothers, William Walkos of Laplata, Md., Gerald Dale Walkos of Stafford, Va., and Allan Lee Walkos of Lam Passas, Texas.
