George Edward McClead, 64, of Avella, died Friday, November 13, 1998, at his home. Mr. McClead served in the U.S. Army and retired from Weirton (W.Va.) Steel in 1985 after 33 years of service in the tin mill. He lived most of his life in Avella, where he was a past member of SNPJ Lodge 292 and the Polish Star Mutual Benefit Society. On October 15, 1986, he married Pauline Reed, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mary and Shirley Potts, both at home; three stepdaughters, Donna West and Sandy Yankura, both of Avella, and Geraldine Rosa of Eighty Four; a stepson, Donald Potts of Moundsville, W.Va.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Winland of Avella and Edna Dorisio of Hickory; three brothers, William Pollock of Tacoma, Wash., Pete Rosa of Eighty Four and Augie Rosa of Avella; and several nieces and nephews.
