Alice G. Brooks, 96, formerly of Fayette Street, Washington, died at 11 a.m. Monday, November 16, 1998, in Kade Nursing Home, Washington, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Brooks was a homemaker and had worked at the former Washington County Children's Home. She enjoyed sewing, and was a member of First Christian Church of Washington. On February 27, 1926, she married Thomas J. Brooks, who died April 19, 1963. Surviving are a son, Edward W. Brooks of Washington; a brother, Lee H. Earnest of Washington; a grandson, Edward G. Brooks; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a son, Charles "Cab" A. Brooks; and a brother, Merle Earnest.
