Thomas M. Proger, 79, of May Avenue, Washington, died at 9:35 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 1998, in his home following a six-month illness. Mr. Proger was a member of Immaculate Conception Church During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific and Atlantic Theaters, receiving the Victory Medal, American Campaign ribbon and Asiatic-Pacific and European-African Medal. Mr. Proger was employed at Marianna Mine for 43 years as a mechanic. He was a member of Marianna American Legion Steel-Lillie Post 744 and the Anawanna Hunting and Fishing Club, On October 10, 1941, he married Emily Lenik, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Nancy C. Pattison of Claysville and Kitty L. Sten of Washington; a brother, Ralph Proger of Aliquippa; five grandchildren, Timothy, Thomas and Anthony Pattison, Julie Sten and Tami Sten Krysko; and eight great-grandchildren.
