Richard C. (Dick) Hogan, of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Canonsburg, died at 2:45 p.m. Friday, October 30, 1998, in Cleveland Clinic Hospital, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., following a sudden illness. He lived most of his life in the Canonsburg and Pompano Beach areas, where he was a member of both the St. Patrick and St. Henry Roman Catholic churches. Mr. Hogan was the owner/operator of Dick Hogan Racing and Training Stable for 35 years. Among other achievements, he was the 1968 driver champion at Meadows Racetrack. He was a member of the Florida Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association, the U.S. Trotting Association and Harness Horsemen International. He served with the Merchant Marines. On October 10, 1971, he married Yvonne Mary D'Orazio, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Anthony Richard Hogan of Pompano Beach, Fla.; two brothers; three sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
